All- American: Brooke Turner

The Fort Loramie Athletic Boosters established the “All-American Wall of Fame” in 2000. Its purpose is to honor Fort Loramie graduates who have earned All-American status as a result of their participation in collegiate athletics. This past weekend at halftime of the boys basketball game v. Anna, we honored our 18th inductee, Brooke Turner, into the Wall of Fame.

Brooke is a 2011 Fort Loramie graduate who as a student earned numerous academic and athletic honors. After graduation Brooke moved on to Edison Community College where she continued her great success both in athletics and academics. As a member of the Edison Chargers Volleyball Team, Brooke earned Academic All-American Status in being recognized by the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association with the Superior Academic Achievement Award. In order to receive this award and earn All-American honors, Brooke had to maintain a GPA of at least 3.8 or higher. As a freshman, Brooke was also named team MVP.

Due to her successes in the classroom and in volleyball, Brooke moved on to Urbana University and joined the Blue Knights, a Division II college in Urbana, OH. While playing volleyball at Urbana University, Brooke became a record holder sporting the 6th best Hitting percentage for a career.

Brooke graduated from Urbana University Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She is currently a 3rd grade teacher at Concord Elementary School in Troy, OH and recently became engaged to Jacob Seger from Anna. Brooke and Jacob plan to reside in Fort Loramie, the home of her beloved Fort Loramie Redskins.

On behalf of the Board of Education, school and community, we congratulate Brooke on her tremendous achievements and welcome her as the 18th member of the Fort Loramie All-American Wall of Fame. We are certainly proud of Brooke, her accomplishments, and her positive reflection of our fine community.
