For the first time in school history, the Fort Loramie boys golf team has earned a trip to the state tournament with a second place finish. In the first nine holes, Loramie shot a 167 and were in first place. The second nine totaled a 177.
The low man for Loramie was sophomore Caeleb Meyer who shot a personal best 83.
Zach Pleiman and Mitchell Puthoff both had 84 and Eli Rosengarten finished with a 93 for our fourth score. Devin Ratermann’s 104 did not count.
Loramie will play in the State Tournament next Friday and Saturday at North Star Golf Course in Sunbury, OH.
Coach Turner had the following to say about his team, “I’m incredibly happy for the guys. We knew we had an opportunity this season to do something special because of the competition in the southwest district and because three teams were going to move on (instead of two like it has been up until this season). Having the opportunity is one thing, but playing well enough to take advantage of it is another.”
