Behind a full crowd of red and black, the Fort Loramie girls basketball team jumped out to a 31 – 10 first quarter lead on Thursday night. Junior Kenzie Hoelscher led the attack with 14 points while senior Marissa Meiring hit for eight in the opening period.

In the second quarter, the Redskin offense was still rolling as they outscored the Blue Devils 27 – 5. Sophomore Colleen Brandewie chipped in 8 points followed by Senior Macy Imwalle with 5. Seven other players scored in that period alone. Loramie had a commanding 58-15 lead at the half.

For the game, Hoescher finished with 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 steals. Meiring scored 14 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished out 3 assists. Sholtis scored 10 points, had 5 rebounds and 5 assists.Taylor Ratermann had 4 steals and 5 assists.

Fort Loramie finished the night hitting 34 – 59 shots, while Danville was 9 -24. The Redskins were 14-18 from the line, had 23 assists, grabbed 28 boards, and forced over 30 turnovers.

The Redskins will now play for the Regional Final on Saturday night at Vandalia Butler at 7:30 vs Cincinnati Country Day.
