The 2020 Fort Loramie Volleyball season came to an end yesterday in a 5 set loss to Russia in the Sweet 16. I told the team afterward how proud I was of them, for overcoming all the adversity that has been put in front of them since last March, and that they are unselfish, great teammates and even better human beings. Russia was just better than us tonight plain and simple, and you have to give them the credit they deserve.
We end our season at 23-4 with so much to be proud of. We had the 2nd best regular-season record at 19-3, and If my rough calculations are correct, Maya Maurer became Fort Loramie’s all-time assist leader last night and Kenzie Hoelscher climbed to 3rd all-time in kills and became only the 2nd player to reach 400 kills in one season. I know these 2 would gladly give up any records or awards for a few more wins, but I think it’s important to recognize them for their efforts.
I want to thank everyone who has supported us this season, especially the parents who have done everything to make this season as special as possible, to the Fort Loramie administration….thank you! what a bunch of unsung heros you are this year. And finally to my staff, I know we are one of the best staffs in the state of Ohio all the way down the ladder and the strong results show it!
