Kenzie Hoelscher, 4 year letter winner for Fort Loramie, needed 15 points to hit the 1000 point milestone going into tonight’s game. She scored eight in the first quarter, and at the 4:24 mark of the second quarter she hit her eighth basket of the game to become the 9th Fort Loramie Girls basketball player to reach that mark. Coach Siegel stated,, “Our entire program is happy for Kenzie tonight. This achievement is the result of her commitment to be one of the best athletes to come through our school. Only eight other players in our program’s history have attained this hard – earned recognition. Congratulations to Kenzie and her teammates for this memorable game.”

Fort Loramie was clicking on all cylinders Thursday night, hitting 4-8 from beheyond the arc, and 13-20 from the field (17-28 – 61%) while limiting Ansonia to just 3 field goal attempts. Fort Loramie set a school record with 41 points in one period (previous record was 36 against Botkins in 2015-2016). Gasson led the way with 10 points. In the second quarter, Hoelscher was in a zone and was 5-6 from the floor. The score at the half was 63-15.

In the second half, Fort Loramie was 12- 23 (52%) from the floor. The Redskins finished with 26 assists and grabbed 24 steals. Hoelscher led all scorers with 22 points and had 4 steals. Gasson had 12 points, 5 steals and 6 assists. Rose finished with 10 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and dished out 4 assists.

Fort Loramie is now 23-1, and will play Jackson Center on Monday night at 8:00 at Sidney High School.
